Newark's Pennsylvania Station serves many Amtrak and New Jersey Transit trains. We ended our trip on the Raritan Valley Line here.
The tracks run above street level, with plenty of light coming in from above.
Inside the station the Art Deco styling remains.
Up on the track level our Raritan Valley Line train back to High Bridge waits to depart.
The platforms are very long, with a couple extending out beyond the station. These extensions are currently closed. Below ground is the Newark City Subway station, now called Newark Light Rail.
Even the subway station is quite large.
