US 9 begins in Champlain, New York, on the Canadian border. It heads south through eastern New York, passing through Albany on its way to New York City. In New York City, US 9 crosses the Hudson River to New Jersey, where it follows the New Jersey coast to Cape May. From Cape May, travellers must take a ferry to Lewes, Delaware. In Delaware, US 9 heads west to end at US 13 near Laurel.
I drove US 9 from end to end in early July, 1990. The photographs were taken on multiple trips in the mid 1990s.
