US 17 Begins in Winchester, Virginia and heads southeast to Fredericksburg and on to Newport News and the Atlantic coast. After crossing the James River, US 17 heads south to the Dismal Swamp and North Carolina, where it follows the coast through Wilmington, Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina, Savannah and Brunswick, Georgia, and Jacksonville, Florida. From Jacksonville, US 17 slowly heads inland passing through Orlando on its way to its end on the Gulf of Mexico in Punta Gorda.

I drove US 17 from end to end in December 1996, and took these photographs while on that trip.
