Fort Edward has a very nice old station building. This was where we began our journey to Montréal on the Adirondack. The station now houses a small shop as well as a waiting area. The folks working at the station were very friendly and helpful, and keep the information racks well stocked. It was also nice that many passengers detrained south of here, so when we boarded the coach we sat in wasn't very crowded. Although Amtrak lists the station as Fort Edward - Glens Falls, all station signage just says Fort Edward.
Our train from Montréal sitting at the station, and then departing for its journey to New York. The old canopy is visible in the first photo. Since passengers are only permitted to board and exit through one set of train doors near the crossing the long canopy doesn't really serve any purpose anymore, but it still looks good.
The view of the station from across the tracks, and from the north looking south.
The train to Montréal arrives at the beginning of our journey, and a picture of the interior of the station.
