US 33 begins in Elkhart, Indiana and heads southeast, passing through Fort Wayne before arriving in Ohio. US 33 continues heading southeast in Ohio, passing through Columbus before crossing the Ohio River into West Virginia. The route takes a more easterly heading as it passes through central West Virginia, and then begins heading southeast again as it crosses Virginia, eventually arriving in Richmond where it ends.

We traveled US 33 from end to end in August 2005, taking these photographs along the way.
