We rode most of the North Jersey Coast Line on 10 April 2010 trying to get this journey in before the summer rush to the Shore. We began our trip in Bay Head on a bright spring day. Our first train took us from Bay Head to Long Branch where we had to make a quick transfer to our waiting connecting train to Rahway. This second train from Long Branch to Rahway was already very crowded when we boarded, making this second leg less comfortable than we would have liked. While in Rahway we watched the trains on the busy Northeast Corridor go by until our return train arrived. Once again we had to change trains in Long Branch, and once again the connection was very quick. In Bay Head we exited the train with the last couple of passengers through the single door that was opened on the crossing. We ended the day with a walk along the nearby beach and some pizza at a nearby restaurant.
There were still a few North Jersey Coast Line stations we had not visited, so two more trips followed. The first was on 12 June 2010 to visit the Monmouth Park station. We began this trip in Long Branch and rode to Little Silver, stopping at Monmouth Park on the way. We then took another train from Little Silver back to Long Branch. The second trip was on 24 June 2010, a hot summer day when we rode from Avenel to North Elizabeth and back.
The remaining North Jersey Coast Line stations were visited while riding on the Northeast Corridor Line, except Hoboken which we visited while riding the Pascack Valley Line.
