LIRR City Terminal Zone Trip Report

We visited each of the stations in the LIRR’s City Terminal Zone while on many different trips. We began with a visit to Woodside and Penn Station as part of our ride on the Port Washington Branch on 22 March 2009. The Atlantic Branch came next on 19 April 2009 as we rode the Hempstead Branch. Our ride on the Babylon Branch added Kew Gardens and Forest Hills on 18 July 2009. Finally on 12 October 2009 we saw the remainder of the City Terminal Zone taking two trips from Long Island City to Jamaica, one through Hunterspoint Avenue and the other down the Lower Montauk Branch after our trip on the LIRR’s special Belmont Park train.
