The station in Weldon was a Union Station. The Seaboard Air Line ran behind the station while the Atlantic Coast Line ran above, providing this view of the station.
The old Seaboard Air Line platform behind the station.
Apparently there was once a platform along the trestle, but there's no obvious sign of it anymore except for the width of the bridge over the old Seaboard Air Line right of way, which is off-center and wider than the tracks.
I assume these are remnants of the access to the Atlantic Coast Line platform.
The old station is now a library. It has a modern ceiling but at least the old woodwork remains.
Weldon is apparently the rockfish capital of the world.
